How My Animals Help Me Through the Hard Days

Living with a disability in my legs means I spend a lot of time at home. Some days can feel long and lonely. However, I am so grateful for the little companions God has placed in my life.

Tidbit is a six year old tea cup chihuahua who I have had since she was five weeks old. She always close to me while I sleep in my bed or sit in my favorite chair. She offers me a quiet comfort while I write or rest. Additionally, she is an ESA dog who goes literally everywhere with me.

TiTi who is my best friend’s toy chihuahua who is about seven years old maybe. She has been staying with me for a week now because of a family emergency that my best friend and her husband had to handle. I am thrilled to be able to dog sit for my friend until she gets back from traveling up north. She has literally brought so much extra joy into my home with her sweet disposition and loving nature.

Then there’s Peepers, my baby chicken, who is growing up so fast. She keeps me laughing daily with her funny little personality. She is always learning something new as she grows into an adult chicken. I have really enjoyed watching her grow up since my landlord gave her to me about a month ago.

My three beautiful companions don’t judge me for things I can’t do. They literally don’t see my disabilities or my limitations. They simply see me as their mom and they love me without any hesitation. Their unconditional love means more than my words can ever describe or express.

They continue to remind me of their love for me every single day, especially during my difficult times. I will always believe that God knew I needed them in my life. I am thankful to Him for the comfort, laughter, and companionship which my babies bring into my life.

With love and light,

This is a beautiful yet sweet little dog named Herschel, who actually belongs to one of my neighbors. However, he has been coming to see me since the day I moved in to my RV. He literally stays at my house for hours and makes himself at home most days. He is such a sweetheart and gets along well with all my babies, so I absolutely enjoy his company as well.
