Today was one of those days that reminded me how love doesn’t need hours—it only needs moments. Just five minutes. That’s all I had with my sweet niece Jaeci before she left for Virginia. But those five minutes? They were everything.

There’s something so powerful about seeing someone who holds a piece of your heart. Jaeci is that person for me. She always has been. No matter where life takes her, no matter how far the miles stretch between us, she will always be my heart.

Seeing her today—her smile, her energy, her light—grounded me in a way I didn’t realize I needed. She carries this quiet strength and joy that radiates, and every time I’m near her, it reminds me to slow down, to breathe, and to love harder.

It wasn’t a long visit. We didn’t have time for long conversations or big hugs that last too long. But even in that brief moment, it felt like the universe paused just enough for me to hold onto something real. Something that stays with me even after she’s gone.

Distance is hard. Goodbyes are harder. But love—real, deep, soul-connected love—doesn’t fade with distance. It grows. It strengthens. It reminds you that even if someone isn’t physically beside you, they can still be the light that guides you forward.
Jaeci, you are that light for me. Always have been. Always will be.
And today, even if just for five minutes, my heart got to shine a little brighter because of you.
Safe travels, my love. I’ll be counting down the days until I see you again.
