From Tiny Chirps to Big Chicken Energy: Peepers Finds Her Way

“Exhibit A: The aftermath of Peepers discovering that scratching through her food is much more fun than eating it neatly! I think she officially believes she’s one of the big chickens now.

Feeding Habits

Peepers has been keeping me entertained today! Yesterday I bought her new food, and she’s already scratching through it like the big chickens outside. With quick flicks of her tiny feet, she sends bits of feed scattering, the soft rustle mixing with her cheerful peeping. She scratches as she eats, tossing crumbs everywhere and leaving tiny messes in and out of her cage.

Water Bowl Antics

She’s also decided her water bowl is the perfect place for her food. I changed it 20 minutes ago, and it’s already full of soggy bits again, turning it into murky grain soup. Every time I clean it, she refills it like it’s some secret chicken ritual. I think I’ll just wait until morning.

Cage Setup Plans

Tomorrow, I’ll clean her cage and put a puppy pad underneath, blue side up so she can’t shred it while she scratches around, tapping and scraping as she explores.

Bug Hunting Adventures

One thing that always makes me laugh is watching Peepers hunt bugs. When one sneaks into my RV, she spots it instantly, stretches her neck through the cage, and freezes with intense focus. Then—zap—a lightning-fast peck. Most of the time, she catches it… and eats it.

Yuck… but I guess that’s just what chickens do!

Daily Growth

Watching Peepers grow into her instincts has been so much fun. Each day she’s bolder and more curious, filling the space with energy and soft chirps—and reminding me that even the smallest beginnings can turn into something wonderfully wild.

With love and light,
