One of the joys of raising a baby chicken is watching her discover something new every day. Today, a friend shared a helpful tip with me about encouraging Peepers to use the branch that was already in her cage as a roosting spot.
Although the branch had been there all along, Peepers wasn’t quite sure what to think about it. Like many of us, she was a little hesitant when it came to trying something different. She looked at it, walked around it, and took her time before finally deciding to give it a chance.
Tonight, I smiled as I watched her perched comfortably on that branch, roosting just as chickens naturally do. It was a small moment, but one that reminded me that sometimes we simply need a little encouragement before we step into something new.
Peepers has also been having so much fun exploring her new cage. She seems more confident each day, and it has been a blessing to watch her grow, learn, and become more comfortable in her new home.
