Scripture
“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” — Psalm 34:18 (NIV)
Some days are simply harder than others. Depression can make even the smallest tasks feel overwhelming. It can whisper lies that you are alone, forgotten, or that tomorrow will never be different. But God’s truth is greater than the voice of despair.
The Lord does not turn away from those who are hurting. He draws near to them. He sees every tear, every sleepless night, and every silent prayer that never seems to leave your heart. Even when you cannot feel His presence, He is faithfully walking beside you.
Staying strong does not mean pretending everything is fine. Strength is choosing to keep going one step at a time. It is asking for help when you need it, resting when your body and mind are weary, and trusting that God is working even when your emotions tell you otherwise.
Remember that healing is often a journey, not a single moment. God can work through prayer, supportive friends and family, wise counselors, doctors, and the small moments of hope that appear along the way. Seeking help is not a sign of weak faith. It is an act of courage.
Today, give yourself permission to breathe. Let God’s promises be louder than your fears. You are deeply loved, wonderfully made, and your story is not over. There is still hope. There is still purpose. There is still light waiting beyond this season.
Prayer
Heavenly Father,
Today I come before You with a weary heart. You know the battles I fight that no one else can see. When I feel overwhelmed by sadness, remind me that I am never alone. Fill me with Your peace when anxiety rises and Your hope when despair tries to take over.
Give me the courage to reach out for help when I need it and the strength to keep moving forward one day at a time. Surround me with people who will encourage me and remind me of Your love.
Thank You for never giving up on me. Help me trust that brighter days are ahead because You are walking with me through every valley.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen.
Reflection
What is one small step you can take today that moves you toward hope—whether it’s praying, taking a short walk, talking with someone you trust, or simply resting in God’s presence?
