The Power of a Blank Page

Thereโ€™s a certain silence in a blank page. Sometimes it feels heavy, like itโ€™s staring back at you, waiting for the perfect words you donโ€™t quite have yet. Other times it feels like freedom โ€” a wide, open sky that says, anything is possible.

For a long time, I leaned toward the first feeling. A blank page used to scare me. What if I wrote the wrong thing? What if my words didnโ€™t matter? What if nothing came at all?

But somewhere along the way, I learned to see it differently. A blank page isnโ€™t a test. Itโ€™s an invitation. It doesnโ€™t ask for perfect sentences. It doesnโ€™t demand brilliance. It just asks for honesty. One line. One thought. One prayer whispered onto paper.

Why the Page Matters

When I journal, the blank page is where grief has found a safe place to land. Itโ€™s where my faith has deepened, and where Iโ€™ve reminded myself of who I am when the world tries to make me forget.

Every workbook Iโ€™ve written, every guided journal Iโ€™ve created, started with the courage to face that empty space and trust that the words would come.

The page is powerful because itโ€™s waiting for you. Not someone elseโ€™s story, not someone elseโ€™s expectations โ€” just yours.

An Invitation for You

Maybe youโ€™re staring at your own blank page right now โ€” in a journal, in a new season of life, in a choice you need to make. I want to remind you: it doesnโ€™t have to be perfect. You donโ€™t need to know the ending before you start.

Just begin. One word at a time.

Because the blank page isnโ€™t empty after all. Itโ€™s full of possibility, full of courage, full of you.
