Why My Story Still Matters Today

By Princess Crystal of | PrincessCrystalSays.com

Some days I wonder if my story still matters.

I’ve written about pain.

I’ve written about healing.

I’ve opened up about cancer, grief, love, survival, and faith.

But in a world that moves fast and forgets easily, sometimes I question:

Does it still matter?

And then I remember—

Yes. It absolutely does.

My Story Is Still Alive

Even if I’ve told it before, it’s still living.

Because healing isn’t a one-time event.

It’s a journey. A rhythm. A choice to keep showing up.

Someone out there is facing the same storm I weathered 10, 15, 20 years ago.

Someone is searching for words that say, “You’re not alone.”

That’s why my story still matters.

Not because it’s perfect.

But because it’s real.

And real stories will always matter.

Healing Is Meant To Be Shared

God didn’t bring me through fire just for me to sit silent in the ashes.

He didn’t rescue me from pain just so I could hide my past.

He gave me a voice to help others rise too.

Every time I write about survival, I’m handing someone else a light in the dark.

Every time I speak about grief, I’m giving someone permission to feel.

Every time I own my truth, I’m helping someone else walk in theirs.

Stories Make Us Human

In a filtered world of highlight reels and perfect posts, people are starving for something real.

Your story. My story.

Our messy, beautiful, scarred, and sacred stories are what connect us.

Not just the victories, but the valleys too.

So even if I’ve told parts of it before, it still matters today.

Because someone is reading it for the first time—

And they need to hear that healing is possible.

God Is Still Writing

The story isn’t finished.

I’m still learning.

Still growing.

Still trusting.

And that’s the most powerful part:

God is still writing.

The same God who walked with me through cancer is with me as I help others heal.

The same God who comforted me through loss is with me as I speak life into others.

My story didn’t end at the pain.

It keeps unfolding in purpose.

You Have A Story Too

If you’re doubting your voice today—

If you think your past is too messy or your truth is too small—

Please hear this:

Your story matters.

Your voice matters.

And someone out there is waiting for you to speak.

So yes—my story still matters.

And so does yours.

Because we’re not just surviving.

We’re shining.

One honest word at a time.
