Understanding Faith

As a Christian we are a child of God, but we have never seen him face to face. He wants me to build our faith and follow him with the innocent faith of a child. For example: most children believe in the Easter Bunny or Santa Claus, yet they have never seen them. That is the faith God wants from us with no doubts and no fears. He wants you to know that he is here with us, no matter where we are in our life today.

The first memory verse is: Luke 17:6- “And the Lord said, If ye had faith as a grain mustard seed, ye might say unto this sycamine tree, be thou plucked up by the root, and be thou planted in the sea; and it should obey you.” (KJV)

Can you imagine telling a tree in your yard to move and it obeys you? Wow, that would be awesome and inspirational all at the same time. Unfortunately, we are human and we tend to hinder the power God has given us due our own lack of faith. We don’t believe in what he has said to us in the Holy Bible or we just don’t take the time to read his word. When we ignore God, he allows us to fall or lose everything, in order to remind us to become humble and learn from our mistakes.

We are his children and he is our spiritual father who guides us along the path that follows his will for our daily lives. God is your spiritual father, who sent his only son to walk on this earth as a human and face the same temptations we face each day in our own life. However, we begin taking shortcuts or detour, inside of letting Jesus Christ be our light in this dark and evil world. We must have faith and believe that Jesus came to earth, only to be crucified for our many sins.

The second memory verse is: Hebrews 11:1- “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” (KJV)

Jesus Christ died for us, but we must believe he is real even though we have never seen him face to face. By asking God to forgive us of our sins and asking Jesus to come into our hearts, we have can have faith in his promise for an eternal life with him. God wants to move us and stir us up inside, as well as helping us realize our talents that he gave us. Additionally, he wants us to learn to trust with everything that we need his help with.

So, learn to have faith is his promises for us and never let doubt destroy our relationship with God our spiritual father. Find time to spend time with God and let him to guide us along the winding journey that we call lie. Building a strong relationship with God will allow us to follow the straight and narrow path even when we take a detour. Our heavenly father will always stand beside us through the good times and bad, but first you must have faith and believe in him.
