Building Something New: My RV Home Journey

There’s something about starting over that doesn’t look the way you imagined.

Not polished.

Not perfect.

Not something you would have planned ahead of time.

Right now, I’m living in an RV… with a room added onto it.

I’m renting it.

It’s not a traditional home.

It’s not finished.

And some days, it still feels like a work in progress in every sense of the word.

But it’s where I am.

And slowly, piece by piece, I’m fixing it up and making it feel like home.

Some days, the work is small—cleaning, organizing, figuring out how to make the space feel right. Other days, it’s bigger—repairing things, adjusting what I can, trying to turn something worn into something peaceful.

And somewhere along the way, I realized something.

You don’t have to own a place to build something meaningful in it.

This isn’t just about the RV.

It’s about creating a space that feels safe, calm, and mine—even if it’s temporary.

There’s something humbling about pouring care into something that isn’t permanent. But there’s also something powerful in it. It teaches you that peace doesn’t come from ownership—it comes from what you create within the space you’ve been given.

This RV, with its added room and all its imperfections, is becoming more than just a place I’m staying.

It’s becoming a place I’m growing.

Not finished.

Not perfect.

But becoming something better, one step at a time.

And maybe that’s what this season is about.

Learning how to build something meaningful—even in temporary places.

Learning how to create comfort without waiting for perfect conditions.

Learning that “home” isn’t something you wait for… it’s something you make.

I’m still in the middle of it.

Still fixing.

Still learning.

Still creating.

But even here—

in a space that isn’t permanent—

I’m building something real.

And for now…

That’s enough.

With love and light,

Crystal Amon
