Scripture
“Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud…
It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.”
— 1 Corinthians 13:4–7 (NIV)
Devotional Message
Marriage is built on more than emotion — it is strengthened by daily choices.
Feelings rise and fall, life gets busy, differences appear, and expectations shift.
But love that lasts is love that is chosen, even on the days when it doesn’t come easily.
Choosing love means choosing patience when irritation feels justified.
It means choosing kindness when you want to pull away.
It means choosing to believe the best when assumptions try to take over.
Real love is not passive — it’s active. It’s deliberate.
It’s a decision that says, “I will show up for this marriage today.”
The beauty of this kind of love is that it reflects God’s heart toward us.
He loves us with a steady, unconditional love — and invites us to extend that same grace to our spouse.
When you choose love daily, you lay a foundation that storms cannot shake.
Reflection
What one loving choice can I make today, even if it costs me something? Where have I allowed frustration, fear, or fatigue to silence love? How does God’s definition of love challenge my own?
Prayer
Lord, help me choose love today — not simply in words, but in actions.
Teach me to love with patience, kindness, humility, and grace.
Strengthen our marriage through choices that honor You.
Let Your love flow through our home, our hearts, and our commitment.
Amen.
With love and light,
Crystal Amon
