Scripture:
“In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.” — Proverbs 3:6
We often expect God to meet us in the dramatic—mountaintop moments, big breakthroughs, powerful services, or unmistakable miracles. But most of our lives aren’t made of dramatic moments. They’re made of the ordinary: morning routines, commutes, errands, conversations, chores, responsibilities, and small choices stacked on each other.
And it’s right there—in what feels routine or forgettable—that God loves to dwell.
He is the God of burning bushes, yes…
but He is also the God of breakfast by the sea.
The God of parted waters…
and the God of quiet whisperings in caves.
The God of sudden miracles…
and the God of slow, steady growth.
Your ordinary day is sacred because God is already in it.
When you wash dishes, He’s there.
When you send that text checking on someone, He’s there.
When you go to work again, He’s there.
When you choose patience instead of irritation, He’s there.
When you pause to breathe, He’s there.
Sometimes we miss God not because He is silent, but because we expect Him only in the spectacular.
Today, open your eyes to the small, simple ways God is near.
A moment of gratitude.
A surprising peace.
A gentle prompting.
A verse that comes to mind.
A kindness you didn’t plan but felt led to give.
This is holy ground too.
Prayer:
Lord, help me see You in the ordinary moments of today. Slow me down enough to notice Your presence, Your whispers, and Your kindness woven through my routines. Teach me that every moment—quiet or big—is a place where You meet me. Amen.
With love and light
