Every season of life brings endings and beginnings. Sometimes the endings come so suddenly that we don’t feel ready for what’s next. Sometimes beginnings arrive quietly, without fanfare, and we almost miss them.
But here’s what I’ve learned: courage rarely looks like a big, dramatic leap. Most often, it looks like something small — picking up a pen, writing the first word, taking one step forward when you’d rather stay still.
Why Beginning Matters
When we hesitate to begin, we tell ourselves we’re waiting for the “right time.” But the truth is, there is no perfect time. There’s only now.
A fresh page in a journal. A new habit. A whispered prayer. These little beginnings matter because they build momentum. They remind us that we’re still alive, still growing, still capable of choosing hope over fear.
A Gentle Reminder for You
If you’ve been putting something off — a dream, a practice, or even just a moment of stillness — take this as your reminder: you don’t have to have it all figured out. You just need enough courage for today.
Start small. Start now. And trust that God will meet you in the beginning.
