Shelving a Dream: What It Feels Like to See My Own Books in My Bookshelf

I used to imagine the perfect bookshelf—warm wood, soft light, rows of spines with my name printed among them. A dream that once seemed so far away. Now, I have 65 products lined up in my bookshelf: workbooks, journals, poetry, and personalized coaching,—pieces poured out over many seasons of writing and waiting.

This bookshelf is more than a place to store my work. It’s a map of pride, struggle, and persistent hope. Every title holds a story—of late nights, revisions, fear, breakthroughs, and belief.

What Lives on That Shelf

Here are some of the books and products I love seeing there:

Guided journals and workbooks that help other writers find their voice

Devotionals and motivational pieces, woven with faith and heart

Each one is a step of growth. Some titles are recent. Some stretch back years. They reflect not just what I do, but who I have become.

Why It Matters

Proof of dreams coming true. When I first started, I wondered if I’d ever put my own book in someone else’s hands. Now I see them in mine. Visible progress. Every book is a reminder: persistence counts. Revisions matter. Finishing matters. Connection to readers. My works are no longer just ideas. They’re real tools, guides, companions. Encouragement for the journey. If this shelf can hold 65 products, maybe yours can, too.

What It Took

Writing when it was hard, when doubt hovered, when time felt short. Releasing imperfect drafts and letting them grow. Learning to trust my voice, value my ideas, and keep showing up. Building few things well, rather than many just half-done.

For You, Reader & Dreamer

If you’ve ever wanted your own shelf—whether digital, physical, spiritual—this is a reminder: let your work live. Start small. Your first book, first journal, first blog post—that shelf begins with one item.

You might not have 65 yet. Or maybe you already do. Either way, each addition matters.

With love and light,

Crystal Amon
