When I first decided to create a website for Princess Crystal Says, I thought it would just be about picking a template, adding a few words, and pressing publish. I quickly learned—it’s so much more than that.
Building a website is like building a home for your dreams, and every detail matters.
The Beginning: Excitement and Overwhelm
The excitement hit first. I had a vision of a space that would reflect my voice, my story, and my mission to inspire others. But soon, overwhelm crept in. Fonts, colors, logos, hosting, and endless tutorials—I felt like I had stepped into a world where I didn’t speak the language.
There were moments I wanted to give up. But deep down, I knew this website wasn’t just about me. It was about creating a space where people could find hope, healing, and encouragement. That belief kept me going.
Learning as I Went
I made mistakes—plenty of them. Sometimes the pages didn’t look right, the links broke, or the images wouldn’t fit the way I imagined. But each mistake taught me something. I learned to experiment, to research, and most importantly, to be patient with myself.
With every tweak and every edit, I grew more confident. Slowly, the site began to look less like a jumble of parts and more like a reflection of Princess Crystal Says.
Adding My Voice
The most rewarding part was filling the site with words from my heart. Every blog post, every tagline, every image became an extension of my story. The baby dragon and puppy in my logo became symbols of courage, creativity, and comfort—exactly the message I wanted people to feel when they visited my site.
What I Learned
Building my own website taught me more than technical skills. It taught me resilience, creativity, and the importance of authenticity. Just like in writing, the best websites aren’t the “perfect” ones—they’re the ones that feel true to the person behind them.
Why It Matters
Now when I look at my website, I don’t just see a collection of pages. I see a home for my voice, a place where people can come and feel inspired. And that makes every late night and every frustrated sigh worth it.
If you’re thinking about building your own website, my advice is this: don’t be afraid to start messy. Don’t be afraid to learn as you go. And don’t lose sight of why you’re building it in the first place.
Because at the end of the day, your website isn’t just a project—it’s your story, shared with the world.
With love and light,
Crystal Amon
