Sloppy Joe Crescent Roll Bake

This Sloppy Joe Bake is a delicious twist on the classic sandwich, with a flavorful beef filling layered between golden, buttery crescent rolls.

Ingredients:

• 1 pound ground beef

• ½ cup diced onion

• ½ cup diced green bell pepper (optional)

• 2 cloves garlic, minced

• 1 (15-ounce) can Sloppy Joe sauce (or homemade, see below)

• 1 (8-ounce) can crescent roll dough

• 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

• 1 tablespoon butter, melted (for brushing)

• ½ teaspoon salt

• ¼ teaspoon black pepper

Optional Homemade Sloppy Joe Sauce:

• ¾ cup ketchup

• 1 tablespoon brown sugar

• 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

• ½ teaspoon mustard

• ½ teaspoon chili powder

Instructions:

1. Prepare the Sloppy Joe Filling:

• Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).

• In a skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef, onion, and green bell pepper until beef is browned and vegetables are soft. Drain excess grease.

• Stir in minced garlic and cook for another minute.

• Add Sloppy Joe sauce (or homemade mix) and simmer for 5 minutes. Remove from heat.

2. Assemble the Bake:

• Unroll one can of crescent roll dough and press it into the bottom of a greased 9×13-inch baking dish, sealing any seams.

• Spread the Sloppy Joe mixture evenly over the dough.

• Sprinkle shredded cheese over the meat mixture.

• Unroll the second can of crescent roll dough and place it on top, gently stretching to cover the filling. Seal the edges.

3. Bake the Dish:

• Brush the top with melted butter.

• Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the crescent rolls are golden brown.

4. Serve & Enjoy:

• Let cool for 5 minutes before slicing.

• Serve warm with a side of pickles or a simple salad.
